The Poriz Family
Jesse has felt drawn to PNG since he arrived for an outreach with YWAM in 2010, and Stephanie’s heart to help her people has grown stronger as the years have gone by. Recently, God put in their hearts the children and youth of PNG that are not currently being included in existing church-run programs, due to various reasons out of their control. God made it clear that they are to partner with him in a ministry that reaches this group and shows them Jesus's love. He has been opening doors, which they have faithfully been walking through. After an extensive search of mission organizations operating in Papua New Guinea that are involved in child and youth ministry they found Liebenzell Missions.
Liebenzell Missions has been operating in Papua New Guinea for over 100 years. They currently have a child and youth program that targets the unincluded kids in the settlements surrounding Port Moresby, which is the capital city of PNG.
Jesse and Stephanie will be serving in the city of Lae where they have a 14 month program for up to 140 disadvantaged young men that teaches life and spiritual skills, starts them in a trade, and then allows them to live in their halfway house if they are able to find employment. In addition, they have a shelter for physically and mentally abused women as well as an orphanage for at-risk kids that includes street kids, abused children, and children who’s parents have died.
