Barb Roycroft

Barb comes from a Catholic background, and became heavily involved in the Catholic charismatic community in the 60s and 70s. She feels that working with teens in weekly meetings, leading worship, and running summer camps have been great highlights for her in her life. Their reach was in Southern Alberta, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as England, and not only took youth and young adults to the States from Canada, but also to Mexico to build homes in Juarez.

Barb is someone who loves the nourishing presence of the Lord, reading and meditating in the scriptures and soaking in His Word, finding out who He is and who she is in Christ, and what she is to do daily. She loves going for coffee and visiting and praying with people. In prayer, she loves the “releasing” work that the Holy Spirit brings — inspired words of understanding and wisdom that perfectly fit the situation that each person faces. The Holy Spirit can lift heavy burdens and “break open” new ground for people to walk in. They are crowned then with truth and hope as they take their “next steps” with the Lord.

Barb loves the “family of God” and the work in our city that brings churches together in such unity. Together we have become such a vibrant expression of hope that “translates God” to the next generation. God’s brilliant expression of His love is expressed so tangibly through His people here on earth as we love and serve one another.

Her favourite scripture verses are “He who dwells in the shelter of the most high shall rest in the shadow of the Almighty" Ps. 91:1 and "No weapon formed against you will prevail and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord." Isa. 54:16
