I grew up on a ranch west of Pincher Creek in an unchurched family. After high school I attended the University of Lethbridge and attained a Bachelor of Education degree in 1974 and began teaching in the County of Lethbridge where I spent my entire career as teacher/principal/vice-principal. In 1984 I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. The Tab has been my home church since I accepted Jesus. I have served on the board for a number of years during that time and helped at camp, when it was in Canmore for a few years and then again since 2010 at Island Lake.

There was a time when I conveniently avoided anything to do with the eternal but that worldview was completely shattered at the age of 22. That’s when I realized that there was a God and he had revealed himself in Jesus. Ann, my wife to be at the time, had renewed her commitment to Christ – a powerful witness to God’s loving kindness and definitely the Lord’s hand to bring me to saving faith in Christ. Amazing grace!
After graduation from university we found ourselves in Lethbridge, attending the Tab for a short season and then returning with our two sons Jesse and Stephen in 1989 following a 7 year sabbatical to Central Alberta. Over the years our family has supported the ministry at Island Lake My career is in agriculture where I continue to work part time.
It has been such an honour to be part of this flock over these years, serving in various support roles. I’m excited about the direction God is taking our Tab family over this next season, encouraged by His many promises, including: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)
